Internet Glossary : ASP or Classic ASP

Classic ASP, or Active Server Pages, was released in 1998 as Microsoft's free web programming language.

ASP allowed website developers to start creating websites that could do much more than display formatted pages of text. One important feature of ASP is to allow information to be loaded from databases.

Some developers still prefer to develop websites in classic ASP, even though it has been superseded by ASP.net. Websites written in classic ASP can be just as rich in features as websites created using more modern development languages, but at OffSight we use ASP.net as we find we can create websites a lot faster in it, it offers more features and is more secure (it's much harder for hackers to do anything malicious to your web site).

What Do Our Customers Think?
"Being new to e-commerce I needed a company that would guide me through the whole process. Nothing was too much trouble for them to deal with, even some of my stupid questions! The completed website far exceeded my expectations, and I would recommend Offsight to any business, new or established."
