An Introduction To Dedicated Hosting

Added by David Coleman on 22 August 2010
Sometimes websites are so big and complex, or have so many visitors that they need their very own web server to run them. If more than one huge or popular website was running off the same web server they could both be very slow, with people having to wait a while for the pages to load.

Large websites, such as Facebook and Google, have many thousands of web servers seamlessly working together to server you the web pages.

OffSight uses dedicated web servers (not shared with other web companies) to host its client's websites on.

open quotes Our new website was created by Offsight and we have been extremely happy with the results. The new website looks more modern and has better admin facilities so the ease of entering information ‘behind the scenes’ is alot better. Everyone at Offsight couldn’t be more helpful (we were helped by Stu) who was brilliant and nothing was ever too much trouble, my constant phone calls when I was unsure as to how to enter something were always dealt with promptly and no new dilemma was a problem for him. They are continuing to give support on our website and I know that after a quick email or phone call they will be sorting out whatever needs to be done. A great service for a really reasonable fee. close quotes
