Most of you I’m sure have seen the personal side to Facebook, the side where you can chat to friends and tag people in embarrassing photos. But maybe not all of you have seen the business side. This is where you can put your business on the social map.
Unlike Twitter you don’t create a normal business page for your businesses Facebook account. You have to go to www.facebook.com/pages and then select create page. Here you will have to select business page and then enter your company’s details (remember you need to be signed into your account to create a page).
Once this is done you will probably want to look at the layout of your page, it is always a good idea to use your company’s logo as the profile picture and you can get a graphic designer to set up your page so that visually it looks astounding and will keep people on the page.
Facebook is more static than Twitter so it is important to come up with good interesting statuses so that people will comment and start a conversation with you, another good way to entice people into conversation is by asking people questions, by doing this you are bound to get people answering and having conversations with not only you but other people.
This exceptional social media platform can form the basis of your social media marketing and can be a great way to help with your customer service. This may take up a little more time to set up than Twitter but each second is worth it as long as you utilize Facebook to its full extent. We will look further at this in coming articles.
The next social media tutorial will be all about LinkedIn so keep your eye out for that (especially if you provide business to business services).
