Twitter is a brilliant social media platform. It is a way of getting the word out about your business quickly, efficiently and to a lot of people all at once. Twitter is highly active and requires a lot of attention because if you miss something then you will never be able to find it.
To set up your account all you need is a safe password, an e-mail address and a company name or if that is already in use by somebody else a short hand version of the name to use as a user name. It’s really not that difficult. Once you have entered these details Twitter will walk you through the rest in tiny little baby steps.
Now when this has all been completed and you have received and clicked on the link in your confirmation e-mail it is time to really get stuck in. Your tweets can be a maximum 140 characters so to get the message across you have to be short and sweet. If you read my last article you will also know that people don’t want to be shown a list of your products, tweet about things that people are talking about e.g. the woman that had a rant on the tram about ethnic minorities (this was a huge talking point recently).
Be patient you are not going to have hundreds of followers straight away these things take time. You have to be on the ball and interesting to make people want to follow you. This can be frustrating but stick with it and you will find that you gradually build up a following.
I realize that this might be a lot to take in but I’m sure that you can figure it out. If there are any questions please e-mail me on ant@offsight.co.uk where I will be happy to answer questions.
