Top 5 Tips For Social Media Marketing

 We are finding here at Offsight that social media is a hugely effective way to help your business get more potential customers looking at your company. It’s not hard to do and all you need is to be polite to people and stay away from traditional advertising (A poll recently showed that more people trust word of mouth than an advertisement).

Social media for business is about creating a community with your customers so that you are there to offer advise all of the time. We are so convinced about this that we have come up with our top 5 tips for social media;

  1. Make sure that you are always polite to people. Even if they are complaining this could be your chance to show your “customer support” skills publicly if you can deal with the situation in a way that shows you in a positive light.
  2. Make sure that what you talk about is interesting, people won’t want to like your Facebook page or follow your Twitter account if all you do is reel off a list of products that you sell all day. You can capitalise on news story so that you can get a conversation going with customers.
  3. Ask people questions. This brings people to you especially if you ask about interesting topics such as sport, music and other things that your target audience might be interested in. This will make people look at your business and you can gain excellent customer relations by having conversations with the people that answer.
  4. You do need to update and check your social media pages regularly whether it be LinkedIn, Facebook, Twitter, a blog post or any other form of social media that you have. This is because people will quickly become bored with old content so to keep people coming to you, you need to be up to date.
  5. Visual effect is also important. Just like anything else your social media needs to look good otherwise you are not going to keep anybody’s attention for long. When people look at your site they should instantly be hooked.
