Why You Should Be Linkedin

LinkedIn is arguably the most professional of all the social media platforms and is most useful for companies that supply business to business services. This is because there are a lot of businesses on LinkedIn and it is a good way of getting into contact with businesses that may require your services.
LinkedIn is perhaps more effective if you use it from a personal point of view because it allows you to talk to members of other businesses that are quite high up if you can get into the right circle of people. However you can create a company page by selecting companies and then add company.
This form of social media is sort of your own online CV, where people look at what you have to offer and see if you can help them with anything. Unlike Facebook and Twitter, people on here tend to be highly professional and they are looking for you to tell them what you can do for them. They expect to be able to look at your profile and see what you and your company have to offer. It is important therefore not to become too informal, yes have a conversation with people but keep it business related.
Many businesses use LinkedIn as a way of creating a community of businesses that can help each other. You can capitalise on this by becoming linked with people from businesses that you are interested in and businesses that you think could help you (even if they do similar types of work as you).
