How To Keep Your Website Up To Date With Original Content

Added by David Coleman on 30 September 2010

A regularly updated website has a better chance of being found in search results because it shows the search engines that your website’s ‘lived in’ and that you are actively taking an interest in the information that you’re giving to the world.

No matter what industry you’re in, it can be hard to keep coming up with ideas on what to write about that’s relevant to your website and its audience.

You don’t have to (and shouldn’t) always write about you and your company. One good method is to keep an eye on the trade bodies and regulators in your industry and write about events, new rules and laws and any other interesting developments in your field that may affect your clients.

The same goes for broader news from more generic sources such as the BBC. If something is relevant, write summary of it in a few paragraphs and even include a link to the full story.

You don’t have to go mad with reams and reams of text, just write as much as you’ve got time for.

Keep up the good work!

Dave

What Do Our Customers Think?
"I was fed up with looking for website providers – I wanted a new site that didn’t look the same as all the others – and I wanted a site that I could update but still looked like a professional web guy was running it … I find it hard to say how much I love my new site – I’ll tell anyone who asks how good it is and how helpful you guys have been."
